GREENE COUNTY INTERFAITH VOLUNTEERS
Interfaith has been in operation since 1999, born out of the tremendous need following Hurricane Floyd. Today, it operates a food bank with the help of 92 community volunteers and also serves as the state-designated disaster relief center.
Interfaith’s executive director, Dianne Andrews, reported that more than 1,000 individuals a month in 2016 received supplemental food boxes, which are dispensed on the first and third Thursday of the month. It has also extended its food bank mission to Tuesday evening as well to serve those who work days.
